I ran across this very fine investigators website, and he had found out that some NASA star fields are actually fake! Joseph P Skipper found out that some star fields presented on NASA`s website was exact duplicates of each other and have been manipulated. Surprised? not really, it`s the same old secrecy behavior, always denying truth to world populations as Joseph wrote on his website. Read the article and see for your self.

The above 1st image is representative of the International Space Station (ISS) as it first appeared in year 2000 back when it was launched into orbit around Earth. I am providing this view so that there will be no confusion as to what you will be looking at in the evidence images further below. I do this because the look of the ISS has changed over the years as many modifications have been made to it.

The above 2nd image taken in year 2009 is representative of how the ISS has changed with its additions and modifications over the years since 2000. As you can see, there have been additions for solar panels and compartments. This view is provided here to make sure you know what the ISS does not look like here in more recent times.

Now with the stage set for recognizing the International Space Station in is older original year 2000 configuration, the above 3rd image is the real evidence image. This image was supposedly taken from the Space Shuttle Atlantis STS-106 mission on 9/10/2000 through the Crew Optical Alignment Sight. This is an instrument routinely used for docking maneuvers and that is why it has the markings on the lens as you see above.

Off in the background colored pink and just below center is the Space Station in its original older configuration as viewed from a distance. However, the ISS is not the evidential item here and only a reference point. The general evidence area that we are interested in is actually in the black star field background down below the Space Station and slightly to the right as indicated in the location pointed out by the two yellow arrows. Note that I have added 1,2,3 number markers installed within the vertical “plus” signs and the evidence area is to the right of the one with the “3″ in it.

The above 4th image is the real evidence image here. As you can see within the red on the left and yellow on the right box outlines, the stars there are exact duplicates of each other. Obviously, if any of this S106-E-5052 image is real, then something that someone prefers to remain secret from the public and most scientists has been removed from this image and fake material substituted in its place. Any other reasoning speculation for substituting fake background star fields would just be illogical.

The above 5th image is the same scene as in the 4th image but with the outline boxes not present so that you can have a more unobstructed view of this evidence area. As you can see, when this is done, it becomes more apparent that the star field duplication extends further to the right outside of the area defined by the box outlines in image #4. You should know that this is not my discovery but was brought to my attention by Sander Mulder in The Netherlands.

If this type of thing was a rarity in the planetary exploration science data, then this could be passed off as an innocent anomaly or perhaps just some errant carelessness. However, it seems that the only thing that is rare about this routine obfuscation is the lazy careless aspect of someone putting up such obvious duplication literally drawing the eye to its fake character. Any of you who are familiar with this websites content know that this is just another representative sample of secrecy behavior denying truth to world populations. Of the many examples at this website take a look at this representative sample in my 2004 Report #72 and in particular the 3rd and 4th images. It is just one sample of many. Please note what has not been done here. In so many cases, distantly seen evidence warranting secrecy obfuscation intervention is small in the distance and just a matter of extracting the small object from the dark black space background or covering it over. However, that is clearly not what has happened here. The whole star field background has been removed (at least in the image’s lower right quadrant) and replaced with a fake field so repetitive as to drawn attention to itself. This suggests that what ever original material was removed could not be dealt with on an item by item bases.

That in turn suggests that the offending object numbers were too great and plentiful to lend themselves to the item by item treatment or a single or few object(s) were too close and/or large to be candidates for this kind of treatment. If you follow this logic, then one of your first thoughts would be some kind of artificial object like a space craft. That may well be the case but I don’t think we should limit our thinking to that possibility just because it is something we routinely contemplate in our popular culture such as in the movies, etc.

If life is plentiful out there, then it is we in our artificially and self imposed isolation that have the problem of limited perspective. The International Space Station is in orbit at the outer perimeter of Earth’s gravity well influence. Life unknown to us and often perhaps invisible to us could normally exist in Earth’s outer atmospheric influence. Even life confined to that atmospheric influence could have temporary excursions off out into space like land based Penguins spending a large part of their lives temporarily under water and in an environment that will ultimately not sustain them but which is an essential part of their life cycle.

The Space Station in space out on the fringe of Earth’s influence could be within range of such Earth atmospheric based life. Further, what may be occurring on or within that Space Station could be of attractive interest to such life. Before you outright dismiss this life concept, take a look at this STS-75 TETHER INCIDENT VIDEO where an experimental energy source broke its tether to a space shuttle and objects swarmed around it as it drifted away in space likely still generating power radiation. Look also at this 2009 Report #170 of many highly unusual objects around Saturn’s moon Enceladus that may represent life in a thin water vapor atmosphere around Enceladus and in a portion of Saturn’s outer rings.

The point is that just because we do not admit to some things that “may” be possible, since everything clearly isn’t all about us, our “feelings” or “opinions” have nothing to do with whether other life sharing our environment but unknown to us actually exists or not. I suspect that we can safely speculate that what ever visual evidence was sanitized from the above S106-E-5052 image in the lower right quadrant almost certainly represented life of some kind but I don’t think it is safe to assume that it necessarily represented artificiality or high technology.

The problem for the secrecy crowd is that recognition of life of any kind opens the mental door through which growing realization would start rushing. So they have to keep us all ignorant as long as possible about everything rather than have that door swing open for us even a crack. The bottom line is that, except for a few, we are all “farmed” for our role as a financial and talent productivity resource but rejected entirely as a partner in any mental knowledge gain resulting in growth.

As long as we allow this type of slavery and crime against Earth humanity to continue against us and yet through advancing technology we are emerging into the greater environment and interaction with it, surely you can see that this would be a concern for any others out there who may be faced with interaction with us. Remember, doing nothing is itself a choice and one we will almost certainly be held accountable for.

First have in mind, that it was actually really possible to fake this in 1967 and on, because the way of information flow was so slow, compared with today. The technique was not that hard to do with cameras and stage sets in the desert either. I`m not saying that this is the case, i`m just showing you some strange facts regarding the moon landings.

Also consider just a few of these mysterious facts:
Three astronauts were murdered in January of 1967, all of whom would have most likely “walked on the moon”, one of whom was very vocal about the unreliability of the Apollo Command Service Module. A few months later, an Apollo safety inspector was killed “by a train” less than a mile from his home, one week after testifying before a Congressional committee that the death of these three astronauts was a deliberate murder, and that the Apollo program was in shambles. His 500 page, detailed report on the shortcomings of Apollo have never be found. Another mystery is that obvious anomalies exist in the photographic and video record (the most damning ones below). including one NASA picture showing an astronaut walking on the moon without any life support system.

And the classic , six astronauts refused to swear on the Bible that they walked on the moon, including the Apollo 11 crew. Swearing on the Bible is the basis of appealing to a greater authority (God), that He (God) will hold one accountable for purging themselves. In court, a person swears to tell the “whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God”. This has been commonly practiced in Western courts for centuries, as witnesses are “sworn in” before testifying. But six of the astronauts never did?

Me myself can NEVER forget what Armstrong said. This was told by man who was a former NASA employee, Otto Binder, would come forward with information regarding radio ham operators who had their own VHF receiving equipment that enabled them to hear the actual live uncensored audio feed from NASA to the astronauts and vice versa. Parts of these communications were made public later.

NASA: What’s there? Mission Control calling Apollo 11…Apollo: These “Babies” are huge, Sir! Enormous! OH MY GOD! You wouldn’t believe it! I’m telling you there are other spacecraft out there, lined up on the far side of the crater edge! They’re on the Moon watching us!.

The former chief of NASA Communications Systems, Maurice Chatelain, would also go public with information regarding the Apollo 11 story. In 1979, he would confirm that Armstrong indeed had made the aforementioned communication regarding UFOs on or in a crater. Chatelain stated: “The encounters was common knowledge in NASA,” he revealed, “but nobody has talked about it until now.”

First of all i  would like to say that, this is breaking news again. The first real recognition since Edgar Mitchell appeared on London Radio Kerrang and confessed that ” We have known about them for many years” and now Professor Hawking, and we must all remember that it is really Professor Stephen Hawking saying this, and it`s great!.

Stephen Hawking has worked on the basic laws which govern the universe. With Roger Penrose he showed that Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity implied space and time would have a beginning in the Big Bang and an end in black holes. These results indicated that it was necessary to unify General Relativity with Quantum Theory, the other great Scientific development of the first half of the 20th Century. One consequence of such a unification that he discovered was that black holes should not be completely black, but rather should emit radiation and eventually evaporate and disappear. Another conjecture is that the universe has no edge or boundary in imaginary time. This would imply that the way the universe began was completely determined by the laws of science.

His many publications include The Large Scale Structure of Space time with G F R Ellis, General Relativity: An Einstein Centenary Survey, with W Israel, and 300 Years of Gravity, with W Israel. Stephen Hawking has three popular books published; his best seller A Brief History of Time, Black Holes and Baby Universes and Other Essays, and most recently in 2001, The Universe in a Nutshell. THE aliens are out there and Earth had better watch out, at least according to Stephen Hawking. He has suggested that extraterrestrials are almost certain to exist — but that instead of seeking them out, humanity should be doing all it that can to avoid any contact. The suggestions come in a new documentary series in which Hawking, one of the world’s leading scientists, will set out his latest thinking on some of the universes greatest mysteries.

How would they look like?

Would they be of a humanoid type or reptilian maybe, or even like the well known EBE photographed at S4 base. Or just in an Astral shape of energy form perhaps. Or like the tinfoil shaped being photographed by Alabama police chief Jeff Greenhaw 1973 who knows??

Alien life, he will suggest, is almost certain to exist in many other parts of the universe: not just in planets, but perhaps in the center of stars or even floating in interplanetary space. Hawking’s logic on aliens is, for him, unusually simple. The universe, he points out, has 100 billion galaxies, each containing hundreds of millions of stars. In such a big place, Earth is unlikely to be the only planet where life has evolved.

“To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational,” he said. “The real challenge is to work out what aliens might actually be like.”

The answer, he suggests, is that most of it will be the equivalent of microbes or simple animals the sort of life that has dominated Earth for most of its history.One scene in his documentary for the Discovery Channel shows herds of two-legged herbivores browsing on an alien cliff-face where they are picked off by flying, yellow lizard-like predators. Another shows glowing fluorescent aquatic animals forming vast shoals in the oceans thought to underlie the thick ice coating Europa, one of the moons of Jupiter. Such scenes are speculative, but Hawking uses them to lead on to a serious point: that a few life forms could be intelligent and pose a threat. Hawking believes that contact with such a species could be devastating for humanity. He suggests that aliens might simply raid Earth for its resources and then move on: “We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach.”

He concludes that trying to make contact with alien races is “a little too risky”. He said: “If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the Native Americans.” The completion of the documentary marks a triumph for Hawking, now 68, who is paralyzed by motor neurone disease and has very limited powers of communication. The project took him and his producers three years, during which he insisted on rewriting large chunks of the script and checking the filming. John Smithson, executive producer for Discovery, said: “He wanted to make a program that was entertaining for a general audience as well as scientific and that’s a tough job, given the complexity of the ideas involved.” Hawking has suggested the possibility of alien life before but his views have been clarified by a series of scientific breakthroughs, such as the discovery, since 1995, of more than 450 planets orbiting distant stars, showing that planets are a common phenomenon.

So far, all the new planets found have been far larger than Earth, but only because the telescopes used to detect them are not sensitive enough to detect Earth-sized bodies at such distances. Another breakthrough is the discovery that life on Earth has proven able to colonize its most extreme environments. If life can survive and evolve there, scientists reason, then perhaps nowhere is out of bounds. Hawking’s belief in aliens places him in good scientific company. In his recent Wonders of the Solar System BBC series, Professor Brian Cox backed the idea, too, suggesting Mars, Europa and Titan, a moon of Saturn, as likely places to look.

Similarly, Lord Rees, the astronomer royal, warned in a lecture earlier this year that aliens might prove to be beyond human understanding.

“I suspect there could be life and intelligence out there in forms we can’t conceive,” he said. “Just as a chimpanzee can’t understand quantum theory, it could be there are aspects of reality that are beyond the capacity of our brains.”

Scientist`s from another planet – Created all life on earth?

Scientist`s from another planet – Created all life on earth by manipulating the regulatory regions of human DNA?

Traces of this epic masterpiece of creation can be found in all religious writings and traditions. It is to them that Moses, Jesus, Buddha and Mohammed referred to. Maybe it is now time to welcome these teachings?

Let us first start with the RAELIAN religion, which is based on this fact will be described later in this article.

RAELIAN MOVEMENT – WHAT HAPPENED?

At the age of 27, on the morning of December 13, 1973, while Rael was still leading his successful racing-car magazine, RAEL had a dramatic encounter with a human being from another planet, at a volcano park in the center of France, known as “Puy de Lassolas”.

This extra-terrestrial gave him a new detailed explanation of our origins and information on how to organize our future, as recorded in the book: Intelligent Design. After six consecutive meetings in the same location, Rael accepted the mission given to him, to inform humanity of this revolutionary message and to prepare the population to welcome their Creators, the Elohim, without any mysticism or fear, but as conscious and grateful human beings. This first public conference held in Paris on September 19, 1974 attracted more than 2000 people. Shortly after, he founded the association MADECH – a group of people interested in helping him in his huge task- that would later become the RAELIAN Movement. By the end of the year 1974, the association counted 170 members. RAELIAN Movement now have more than 70000 members in 97 countries.

THE VISITOR

The extra-terrestrial human being was a little over four feet tall, had long dark hair, almond shaped eyes, olive skin, and exuded harmony and humor. Rael recently described him by saying quite simply, “If he were to walk down a street in Japan, he would not even be noticed.” In other words, they look like us, and we look like them. In fact, we were created “in their image” as explained in the Bible.

The visitor told Rael that: “We were the ones who designed all life on earth” “You mistook us for gods” “We were at the origin of your main religions” “Now that you are mature enough to understand this,we would like to enter official contact through an embassy”

THE MESSAGES

The messages dictated to Rael explain that life on Earth is not the result of random evolution, nor the work of a supernatural ‘God’. It is a deliberate creation, using mixed DNA, by a scientifically advanced people who made human beings literally “in their image” — what one can call “scientific creationism.” References to these scientists and their work, as well as to their symbol of infinity, can be found in the ancient texts of many cultures. For example, in Genesis, the Biblical account of Creation, the word “Elohim” has been mistranslated as the singular word “God”, but it is actually a plural word which means “those who came from the sky”, and the singular is “Eloha” (also known as “Allah”). Indigenous cultures all over the world remember these “gods” who came from the sky, including natives of Africa (Dogon, Twa, and more.), America, Asia, Australia, and Europe. Another example, is the Double Helix string also appears on many old Sumerian and Egyptian writings.

Leaving our humanity to progress by itself, the Elohim nevertheless maintained contact with us via prophets including Buddha, Moses, Mohammed, etc., all specially chosen and educated by them. The role of the prophets was to progressively educate humanity through the Messages they taught, each adapted to the culture and level of understanding at the time. They were also to leave traces of the Elohim so that we would be able to recognize them as our Creators and fellow human beings when we had advanced enough scientifically to understand them. Jesus, whose father was an Eloha, was given the task of spreading these messages throughout the world in preparation for this crucial time in which we are now privileged to live: the predicted Age Of Revelation.

Far from “the word of God”, the bible is simply a collection of stolen pagan mythology. The story of Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden were taken from the Babylonian account. As far as the history and religion of this planet and how human was created is concerned, humans are an intelligent mixed new design. And you can consider that everything you learned so far is a complete lie.

Look at the image, on the top, the two entwined snakes and the ladder like ribbons between the serpents bodies, rings any bell? Remember that these images are thousands of years old. Today we still use the image of the entwined serpent as a sign of medicine, this has carried over from ancient times. What does the emblem of entwined serpents, the symbol for medicine and healing to this very day, represent?

The discovery by modern science of the double helix structure of DNA offers the answer: The entwined Serpents emulated the structure of the genetic code, the secret knowledge of which enabled the creation of the Adam. A group of researchers working at the Human Genome Project will be announcing soon that they made an astonishing scientific discovery: They believe so called non coding sequences (97%) in human DNA is no less than genetic code of an unknown extraterrestrial life form. The non coding sequences are common to all living organisms on Earth, from molds to fish to humans. In human DNA, they constitute larger part of the total genome, says Prof. Sam Chang, the group leader. Non-coding sequences, also known as “junk DNA”, were discovered years ago, and their function remains mystery. Unlike normal genes, which carry the information that intracellular machinery uses to synthesize proteins, enzymes and other chemicals produced by our bodies, non-coding sequences are never used for any purpose. They are never expressed, meaning that the information they carry is never read, no substance is synthesized and they have no function at all. We exist on only 3% of our DNA. The junk genes merely enjoy the ride with hard working active genes, passed from generation to generation. What are they? How come these idle genes are in our genome? Those were the question many scientists posed and failed to answer until the breakthrough discovery by Prof. Sam Chang and his group. Read links at bottom.

Much hype is being made these days about the similarity between human and chimp DNA. Apparently, this is further “proof” of evolution. According to most lay people, the degree of similarity is between 98 and 99 per cent. The figures even found their way into some entertaining commercials. Actually, the real number that the evolutionists should have been hyping is closer to 96.2 per cent when a proper mean is taken.1 Dr. Don Batten, of AiG, has noted, however, that: This number was inferred from a fairly crude technique called DNA hybridization where small sections of human DNA are split into single strands and allowed to re-form double strands (duplex) with chimp DNA. However, there are various reasons why DNA does or does not hybridize, only one of which is degree of similarity (homology). Consequently, this somewhat arbitrary figure is not used by those working in molecular homology (other parameters, derived from the shape of the ‘melting’ curve, are used). Why has the 97% figure been popularized then? One can only guess that it served the purpose of evolutionary indoctrination of the scientifically illiterate.

In fact, it appears that in their eagerness to push the human chimp common ancestry myth, the evolutionists spoke too soon. Recent studies as of 2003 have shown that the difference between human and chimp DNA is not a mere 1 or 2 percent but at least 15 percent. We are more unique than previously thought, according to new comparisons of human and chimpanzee DNA. Roy Britten of the California Institute of Technology thinks it will be some time before we know what it is about our genes that makes us so different from chimps. He thinks the real secrets could lie in “regulatory” regions of DNA that control whole networks of genes. ” But it’ll be a while before we understand them,” he says.

A deadly, airborne new strain of fungus has emerged in Oregon. It has killed nearly one out of four known affected people so far and might also attack animals ranging from dogs to dolphins. And it is likely to spread, researchers now warn. The new strain known as VGIIc of the fungus Cryptococcus gattii not only targets humans but has also proven capable of infecting dogs, cats, alpacas, sheep and elk. Other strains have even infected porpoises. Although it can spread to mammals, it does not jump from animal to animal. Instead, people and other animals get it from inhaling spores released by samples of the fungus that infect trees.

“It’s in the environment, and we’re exposed to the environment,” researcher Edmond Byrnes III of Duke University Medical Center told LiveScience. “And the environmental range of this has been expanding.”

Potential to spread

While scientists aren’t sure how the highly infectious or virulent fungus emerged in Oregon, they caution the new strain now looks set to expand to California and other neighboring areas.

“This novel fungus is worrisome because it appears to be a threat to otherwise healthy people,” Byrnes said. “Typically, we more often see this fungal disease associated with transplant recipients and HIV-infected patients, but that is not what we are seeing yet.”

Symptoms can appear two or more months after exposure. Most people never develop symptoms, but those infected may have a cough lasting weeks, sharp chest pain, shortness of breath, headache related to meningitis, fever, nighttime sweats and weight loss. In animals the symptoms are a runny nose, breathing problems, nervous system problems and raised bumps under the skin. Treatment requires months to years of antifungal medications, and even surgery to remove the large masses of the fungus known as cryptococcomas that can develop in the body. So far it cannot be prevented, as there is no vaccine.

Origin unknown

The fungus C. gattii was originally linked with eucalyptus trees in tropical and subtropical climates. It first caused an outbreak in temperate climes on Vancouver Island in 1999 that has now spread into Washington and Oregon, where it infects local trees. This earlier strain, VGIIa/major, has killed nearly 9 percent of 218 patients. After comparing the genes of the new VGIIc strain from Oregon with others, researchers suggest the new strain most likely arose recently, parallel to the outbreak that began on Vancouver Island. So far it has killed five out of 21 patients analyzed in the United States, a nearly 25 percent mortality rate. Lab studies with immune cells and with live mice revealed it is extremely virulent — that is, it can cause severe disease. Determining the exact origin of the VGIIc strain has proven difficult. Investigations so far have failed to find it in Oregon soil, water or trees. It may have arrived from abroad or originated locally, researchers said. Because this fungus had been confined to the tropics until now, researcher Wenjun Li at Duke University speculated that environmental changes might be responsible for the evolution and emergence of these new strains.

“We are trying to put together the evolutionary story of where these types come from by closely studying the genetics of all samples possible,” explained researcher Yonathan Lewit at Duke University Medical Center.

It remains uncertain why VGIIc and VGIIa/major are more virulent than other strains. One possibility, given how this fungus can reproduce sexually, new hypervirulent combinations of genes emerged due to sex. The researchers also noted that cell components known as mitochondria in these strains could adopt a distinctive tube shape. Since mitochondria help generate energy in cells, it is possible these strains are more energetic, “but that’s just speculation right now,” Byrnes said. When it comes to a public response to outbreaks of these strains, “public health officials in that area have formed a working group with state epidemiologists from all those states in the Pacific Northwest,” Byrnes noted. “It’s important that public awareness expand on this.”

The scientists detailed their findings online April 22 in the journal PLoS Pathogens.

Devil’s Tramping Ground is truly a very strange site.  It is another North Carolina mystery and can be found near the town of Siler City. It is a perfect enigma for which many explanations have been attempted and yet none exist. It is in a wooded grove near the small town where the Devil is said to have come and walked the earth, creating a perfect circle that is exactly forty feet in diameter. The Devil’s Tramping Ground is a barren circle in the forest in the Harper’s Crossroad community near Bennett, North Carolina. It is the subject of some of North Carolina’s oldest legends. For at least the last hundred years, nothing has grown within the 40 foot ring and the phenomenon is thus far unexplained.

A United States Geological Survey team could uncover no scientific explanation for the lack of growth within the ring.

Stories about the ring are well known in local communities. These include the disappearance of objects left within the ring overnight, and strange events occurring to those brave enough to spend the night within its boundaries. Legend says that this is the very place the devil himself can rise from the depths of fiery hell, and come to earth. It’s at this place, the devil walks in circles on certain nights and brings his evil into this world.

And the story is that the Devil goes there to walk in circles as he thinks up new means of causing trouble for humanity. There, sometimes during the dark of night, the Majesty of the Underworld of Evil silently tramps around that bare circle thinking, plotting, and planning against good, and in behalf of wrong.

The United States Air Force has announced that it will launch a secret space plane that has sparked speculation about the militarization of space. The Pentagon has set April 21 as the date for the launch of the robotic space plane known as the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV), which is a reusable unmanned plane capable of long outer space missions at low orbits.

Since the nature of the project is shrouded in mystery, defense analysts allege that the US military is building the first generation of US ‘space Predator drones’ that will build up the United States’ space armada, the Christian Science Monitor wrote in a recent article. Military experts argue that the US Department of Defense would not have saved NASA’s costly X-37B project, which had been scrapped, if it did not have a military application. They say the US wants to maintain a leading role in space via the development of the new ‘space weapon’ at a time when other countries like China are expanding their space programs. However, US military officials maintain that the X-37B will only be used for transporting payloads and facilitating space experiments. The OTV is capable of supporting a range of tests, the Air Force spokesperson for the project said earlier at the 26th National Space Symposium.

“The first mission will emphasize proving technologies necessary for long duration reusable space vehicles with autonomous reentry and landing capabilities,” Angie Blair added. She went on to say that the “specific details of the OTV capabilities, limitations and vulnerabilities” remain classified. The X-37B can stay at an orbit between 200 and 800 kilometers for around 270 days before landing automatically at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, reports say. The location of the mission control center for the Boeing-made space vehicle is also a classified secret, but Blair says that Air Force Space Command’s 3rd Space Experimentation Squadron (AFSPC) will run the operation. Military space specialist Professor Roger Handberg, who is the chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, told Space.com that the X-37B project may signify continued U.S. Air Force interest in a rapid response vehicle along the lines of the long-proposed space maneuver vehicle. He added that the project could be viewed “as the logical extension of the push into unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) where vehicles used for observation have moved into weapon carriers and various other missions, many classified.”

“From the perspective of international observers, especially in space-aspiring states such as China, the X-37B program just reinforces their view that the U.S. is pushing to gain first mover advantage in rapid response, including possible weaponization of space using this vehicle or a derivative,” Handberg noted.

Political analysts say that the X-37B project could be interpreted as a violation of the Outer Space Treaty of 1967 if the space plane is used for military purposes. The Outer Space Treaty of 1967, officially known as the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies, states that the exploration and use of outer space shall be carried out for the benefit and in the interests of all countries and shall be the province of all mankind; states shall not place nuclear weapons or other weapons of mass destruction in orbit or on celestial bodies or station them in outer space in any other manner; the Moon and other celestial bodies shall be used exclusively for peaceful purposes; astronauts shall be regarded as the envoys of mankind; states shall be liable for damage caused by their space objects; and states shall avoid harmful contamination of space and celestial bodies.

Article IX of the Outer Space Treaty states: “A State Party to the Treaty which has reason to believe that an activity or experiment planned by another State Party in outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies, would cause potentially harmful interference with activities in the peaceful exploration and use of outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies, may request consultation concerning the activity or experiment.” In addition, a proposal has been put forward for a Space Preservation Treaty that would ban all space weapons, but no country has signed the treaty so far.
