The human rights group Human Rights Watch has published a 154-page document accusing the United States of cooperating with Libya under the rule of Muammar Gaddafi, in the interrogation and torture of members of the armed group, Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), according to a report in the Huffington Post.
The report alleges that the United States and Libya, together with governments from Africa, Asia, and Europe such as the United Kingdom, collaborated in detaining former members of LIFG living outside Libya then deporting them back to Libya where they were allegedly tortured. According to the report, some of those detained where abused even before the were returned to Libya such as those held in United States military bases in Afghanistan. News reports have revealed that the abuse may have occurred between April 2003 and April 2005.
Upon the release of the document, Human Rights Watch has stated that their key source of information came from a pile of abandoned documents found on September 3, 2011 from the offices of former Libyan intelligence chief Musa Kusa. They also said that they have interviewed 14 former detainees who allege that they were subjected to abuses ranging from waterboarding, sexual assault, stress positions, beatings, and sleep deprivation.

So in just a few weeks, some kind of UFO-related secrets will be revealed at a Smithsonian Institution affiliated museum. That’s the implied promise in the title of a special lecture coming up at the National Atomic Testing Museum in Las Vegas on Sept. 22.
The secrets haven’t yet been revealed, but the players involved certainly present the potential for something intriguing to emerge from this one-night event that’s part of the museum’s ongoing Area 51 lecture series.

“We looked at bringing in some people to talk about extraterrestrials and UFOs,” said museum CEO and executive director Allan Palmer, a highly decorated former Air Force and Navy combat jet fighter.
“We wanted to concentrate on people who had personal stories and exposure to what they thought were real UFOs from the military side, because they might have just a little more credibility than your average Joe,” Palmer told The Huffington Post.

The fifth guest at the museum’s upcoming UFO lecture is former U.K. UFO desk officer Nick Pope.
What’s going to be different about this one-time lecture compared to previous gatherings where military personnel have stepped forward to reveal details about personal UFO experiences? “The main difference angle is that you have high credibility vetted sources,” Alexander told HuffPost. “What you’re getting from this panel are people who have worked with the military, all of whom certainly agree that UFOs are real, and I think most of them would say it ought to be researched.

Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, passed away this weekend at age 82. Many have asked if Armstrong took with him the secrets of what really happened during the famed 1969 Lunar Landing. Well, yes- and no. Over the years, I have gotten to know a number of astronauts- and very close family members and friends of astronauts. As you may recall, my uncle was the senior project engineer for Grumman (now Northrop Grumman) that built the Lunar Module, that landed on the moon in July of 1969. The truth of that historic event has never been told. We did go to the moon- but the events that transpired were kept secret and officially remain secret to this day.
By the time we landed on the moon, the Lunar Orbiter had mapped the moon and imaged ancient as well as more recent structures on the moon. This has been confirmed by more than one DisclosureProject.org witness. So by the time we landed, the military and intelligence community- and a small compartment of operatives at NASA- knew that we may in fact encounter something very unusual there. To prepare for this possibility, there was a time delay from the Lunar Module via an NSA (National Security Agency) uplink and other, alternative film footage was prepared to be shown in the event of something really unusual happening.
Well it happened. Close friends and very close family members of both Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin have separately told me that indeed there were numerous, large UFOs around the crater where the Lunar Module landed and that these were seen by both Armstrong and Aldrin. I have also spoken to military officers that have seen the footage of this event- but it has never been made public. One close family member of Buzz Aldrin told me “It is not my place to out Buzz on this- someday if he can speak about it, he will…”
Of his time on the moon’s surface, he said: “It was special and memorable but it was only instantaneous because there was work to do. We weren’t there to meditate. We were there to get things done. So we got on with it.”
Neil Armstrong became somewhat of a recluse after the moon landing, and rarely spoke of the historic event. His friends and family have told me that this is because he was a man of such integrity that he simply did not want to be put in a position to lie to the public about such a momentous encounter. How tragic that our heroes have been placed in this untenable situation!
When we were organizing The Disclosure Project a few years ago, I asked one of Neil Armstrong’s friends if Armstrong would come to Washington to brief members of Congress at the 1997 Congressional briefing we organized in April of that year. I was told that Armstrong wished he could –but that if he spoke about what really happened during the moon landing, that Neil Armstrong, his wife, and children would all be killed. It was put to me this bluntly.
I found this to be unbelievable at the time, but since then have found that such threats and bullying by the over-reaching national security state is routine. A very senior scientist at the Naval Research Labs in Washington DC recently told me and the Disclosure Project team that if he spoke about some of the information he knew, that he, his wife, his children and grandchildren would all be killed.
This is no joke – and not a conspiracy theory. This is the way the highly secretive and fascist bosses in the deep black national security state operate. They make the Mafia look like choir boys.
In the meanwhile, we continue to applaud those courageous men and women who come forward, speak the truth and move Disclosure forward. The world deserves to know that we are not alone, that intelligent life exists in the universe beyond earth and that we have amazing new sciences and technologies that urgently need to be disclosed. Apparently Russia is on it`s way to rebuild the old Soviet Union with all of it`s bad sides. One of them was censorship. Now they are on the way to censor Wikipedia. Access to the Russian-language Wikipedia is disabled across almost all its pages today, due to the Russian parliament, the Duma, debating amendments to the law “About information” which may lead to censorship of Runet through blacklisting and filtering of internet sites. The proposed bill aims to creating a blacklist of internet sites alleged to host child pornography, drug related material, extremist material and other content illegal in the country. It also proposed several other changes in the law, including holding providers of telecommunication services liable for failing to protect children.
Critics, including Yahoo, and the search engine Yandex and social networking site Vkontakte noted that as-written the legislation contained many technical faults likely to negatively impact legitimate internet use. In protest, the Russian Wikipedia community decided upon a near-total blackout of contents on July 10. The blackout banner includes the text: “Imagine a world without free knowledge”, and summarises the details of the bill. Readers are warned that articles, such as Suicide, may be considered “harmful” due to ambiguity in the proposed legislation, risking a block of the entire website by Russia-based Internet providers.
Later in the day, the popular blogging platform LiveJournal issued a statement similarly opposed to the legislation: “[Livejournal] considers the introduction of any restrictions on freedom of expression and information in the Internet to be unacceptable.” The announcement by the Russian Wikimedia community states:
“ Wikipedia in Russian will be closed on July 10th because of the Russian parliament’s debate on amendments to the law «About information» that could create real censorship of the internet a blacklisting and filtering of internet sites.
Supporters of the law proposed say that it is aimed only at widely prohibited content such as child pornography but conditions for determining the content falling under this law will create a thing like the Great Chinese Firewall.
The existing Russian law’s practice shows the high possibility of the worst scenario, in which access to Wikipedia soon will be closed in the country. On July 11 the second reading of the law in the State Duma will take place. The law will come into force after the third reading, for which a date has not yet been set.

Three websites have been restricted by the U.S. government due to their hosting of pirated Android apps, according to the FBI. The sites Applanet.net, Appbucket.net and Snappzmarket.com were the first websites of their kind to be shut down, it said. The Department of Justice said these were the “first time website domains involving cellphone app marketplaces have been seized.” The announcement came on Tuesday after the Justice Department took down the sites.
“The theft of intellectual property, particularly within the cyber-arena, is a growing problem and one that cannot be ignored by the U.S. government’s law enforcement community,” said an official FBI statement. “These thefts cost companies millions of dollars and can even inhibit the development and implementation of new ideas and applications.” Yeah!! “all to protect their money”
The Web has been full of news lately about the FBI seizing illegal websites and now it’s was time for three Android related ones to go down. The 3 appmarkets that were offering pirated content have been seized today and 9 individuals have been issued search warrants for. GIzmodo notes that this DoJ effort to take down sites engaging in the piracy of mobile apps is unprecedented. The procedure of the takedown went similarly to how the government has handled issues of piracy when dealing with movies and music in the past. The takedown was conducted by having “FBI agents downloaded thousands of copies of popular copyrighted mobile device apps from the alternative online markets,” that were suspected of infringement, according to the FBI statement. “Nine search warrants were also executed in six different districts across the country today as part of the operation.”
The BBC reported that local warrants were issued in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi and Texas, and foreign law enforcement groups made efforts to seize content in France and the Netherlands. The U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, Sally Quillian said, “We will continue to seize and shut down websites that market pirated apps, and to pursue those responsible for criminal charges if appropriate.” Quillian’s statement was directed at all piracy sites, including music, film, television, video games and other infringed materials.
Users who attempt to log onto any of the three infringing websites are met with this FBI warning.
“The domain has been seized by the FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation pursuant to a seizure warrant issued by a United States District Court under the authority of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 981 and 2323.
“Willful copyright infringement is a federal crime that carries penalties for first time offenders of up to five years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine, forfeiture and restitution (Title 17, United States, Section 506, Title 18, United States Code, Sections 2319).”
Gizmodo noted that “the efficiency of the government’s domain killing machine is pretty terrifying.” Several other sites that have been either been removed or are under scrutiny include Demonoid, the Pirate Bay and other BitTorrent sites. It`s not yet known if visitor`s being logged to any FBI computer base when trying to visit any of these pages.
August 31, 2012 – A research team set off for northern Sweden on Thursday to get to the bottom a “Ghost Rocket” sighting from 1980 that has been labelled as “the biggest UFO mystery in the world” and which the Swedish military kept classified for years. The expedition leader and head of UFO-Sweden, Clas Svahn, set off on the trip to Jokkmokk, far northern Sweden on Thursday together with a support team, divers, a film crew, and the original witness who watched the craft land in the water.

“I expect to be surprised,” Svahn told The Local, explaining that while he is not a “believer”, he hopes that the trip can provide answers.
“People mistake UFOs with flying saucers. There are many, many reports of strange things in the air, but what we’re interested in is explaining what they are. Every answer is a good answer.”
The craft the team is looking for was seen crash-landing in the south end of a lake in Muddus, back on July 31st, 1980. The witnesses, Bo and Liz Berg, watched as the “elongated, cigar-shaped object with two protrusions on its sides” came whizzing by them, turned 180 degrees, and performed a controlled landing in the water, disappearing in a spray of bubbles. The description of the object led the research team to conclude it was a so-called Ghost Rocket – a spacecraft that has long-held captured the attention of both UFO investigators and the military alike. Since 1946, witnesses have reported nearly 20,000 unidentified objects in the skies over Sweden, with 1,000 alone in 1946. According to the UFO Sweden homepage, the sheer number of these reports caused the Swedish military to send out research teams. The rockets were at first believed to be Russian tests of V-1 or V-2 missiles captured from the Germans during World War Two.
However, since no fragments have ever been found, the Swedish, British and US military failed to find an explanation. The only concrete evidence the military found was occasional craters in the lake bottoms and damaged aquatic plants.
But Svahn believes that where the military failed, his team may succeed. He confesses that he has long been interested in UFOs and has been compelled to find out more about them since he was a teenager in the seventies. And while he admits that he is unsure exactly what the Ghost Rocket may be, Svahn is confident that it is made of steel, and that the landing described by the witnesses suggests that the object was being controlled.
“Someone was sitting somewhere,” he told The Local.
“Even better, this is the only occasion we’ve heard of where the object landed rather than crashed. There’s a very real chance that we may find it intact.”
The team will begin diving with a host of professional equipment on Friday and will continue their search until Monday. Meanwhile, a film crew accompanying the expedition is making a documentary about the exploration, which has caught the attention of an international audience and fan base.However, regardless of the film crew, Svahn explains that the sky is the limit when it comes to the possibilities if something is indeed found at the bottom of the lake.
“There are many more sightings in Sweden that match the Ghost Rockets description. If we find what we’re looking for this weekend, we’ll be investigating the other cases as well.”
