The United States and 10 governments from around the Pacific are meeting yet again to hash out the secret Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement (TPP) on May 15-24 in Lima, Peru. The TPP is one of the worst global threats to the Internet since ACTA. Since the negotiations have been secretive from the beginning, we mainly know what’s in the current version of this trade agreement because of a leaked draft [PDF] from February 2011. Based upon that text, some other leaked notes, and the undemocratic nature of the entire process, we have every reason to be alarmed about the copyright enforcement provisions contained in this multinational trade deal.

The TPP is likely to export some of the worst features of U.S. copyright law to Pacific Rim countries: A broad ban on breaking digital locks on devices and creative works (even for legal purposes), a minimum copyright term of the lifetime of the creator plus seventy years (the current international norm is the lifetime plus fifty years), privatization of enforcement for copyright infringement, ruinous statutory damages with no proof of actual harm, and government seizures of computers and equipment involved in alleged infringement. Moreover, the TPP is worst than U.S. copyright rules: It does not export the many balances and exceptions that favor the public interest and act as safety valves in limiting rights-holders’ protection. Adding insult to injury, the TPP’s temporary copies provision will likely create chilling effects on how people and companies behave online and their basic ability to use and create on the Web.

The stated goal of the TPP is to unite the Pacific Rim countries by harmonizing tariffs and trade rules between them, but in reality, it’s much more than that. The “intellectual property” chapter in this massive trade agreement will likely force changes to copyright and patent rules in each of the signatory countries. Accepting these new rules will not just re-write national laws, but will also restrict the possibility for countries to introduce more balanced copyright laws in the future. This strategy may end up harming other countries’ more proportionate laws such as Chile, where a judicial order is required for ISPs to be held liable for copyright infringement and take down content. Such systems better protect users and intermediaries from disproportionate or censorship-driven take-downs. If the final TPP text forces countries to adopt a privatize notice and take-down regime, this could imply the end of the Chilean system. It would also undermine Canada’s notice-notice regime.

The content industry can and will continue to buy and lie to get their way to get laws that protects their interests, and what they want more than anything is for us to remain passively ignorant. They did it with SOPA, ACTA, and now it’s TPP [ESP]. It’s going to be a challenge to defeat these policies, but we can do it. The TPP is slated for conclusion this October, but our goal is to get the worst of these copyright provisions out of it. The way to fight back is to show that we will not put up with this: To demand an open transparent process that allows everyone, including experts from civil society members, to analyze, question, and probe any initiatives to regulate the Internet. Take this for example: If every single bird art on the face of the planet should multi-mingle with each other, then there wouldn’t be more than one “half brownish” art left, which would be a mixture of all. If every monkey wouldn’t stay faithful to its own species, then there wouldn’t be more than one species left. Where goes all the strains and species then?

Multiculturalism failing’: Swedish PM pleas for order as riots engulf Stockholm suburbs.

These grateful immigrants hundreds of them, was hurling rocks, burning cars and smashing windows for the second day in a row in Stockholm say they are protesting against police brutality and inequality. Seven Police-men were injured, at least ten cars and countless containers set on fire, and dozens of windows smashed in several heavily immigrant-populated neighborhoods of the Swedish capital on Tuesday.

The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 was originally established to protect American citizens from the federal use of military troops to enforce and execute the laws of the land unless expressly authorized by the Constitution or  Congress. Since then, for over a century, this task has fallen upon local and federal law enforcement. But with the War on Terror taking center stage in the United States for the last decade, elements within the government have been working tirelessly to expand the mission of the US military on the domestic front.

First, they passed the Patriot Act, which gave the government sweeping new powers to categorize any individual as a terrorist, whether they are operating on foreign lands or here at home. In 2011, as America brought in the New Year, they signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act, which made it possible for American citizens who were categorized as domestic terrorists under the Patriot Act to be detained and imprisoned indefinitely without charge or trial.

Finally, last week we learned that, as President Obama came under fire for the many scandals rocking his administration, the government was quietly moving to give the Department of Defense unprecedented authority on U.S. soil, effectively nullifying Posse Comitatus.

First, the senate is debating an expansion of the already broad powers of the 2001 Authorization to Use Military Force (AUMF) so the U.S. can essentially engage any area in the world in the war on terror, including America. Which brings us to the second development: the Pentagon has recently granted itself police powers on American soil.

Assistant Secretary of Defense Michael Sheehan told Congress yesterday that the AUMF authorized the US military to operate on a worldwide battlefield from Boston to Pakistan.  Sheehan emphasized that the Administration is authorized to put boots on the ground wherever the enemy chooses to base themselves, essentially ignoring the declaration of war clause in the US Constitution.

While Americans were distracted with three developing scandals pushed by both wings of the mainstream media, sinister developments were taking place behind closed doors. In essence, the US military has granted itself the power to deploy troops on the streets of America without approval from the President or Congress, and the AUMF, which was originally designed to target the terrorists responsible for 9/11, has been expanded to give the government authority to use military assets on the domestic front without a declaration from Congress.

Nordic countries one step closer to form a new Superpower in Europe!

I would like to inform all of you about an idea that has recently continued to grow even stronger lately. It’s not anything new as we here in Norden has been living very closely to it already. But still we have a little bit more to go. Because the Nordic countries could together not only be a big power in international politics and economics, but also as a military force.

As stated lately by the Ambassador of Sweden Anders Lidén in a luncheon seminar hosted by the Center of Balticum and the City of Turku on the 19th of March. The luncheon was part of the Ambassadors series of Centrum Balticum. This time the topic of the seminar handled the role of the Nordic Countries partly from an EU’s and partly from an UN’s perspective. Ambassador Lidén also underlined the importance of the Nordic countries in the international playing fields. The Nordic co-operation in the UN could be a more attractive way to promote EU positions and ideas. Promoting the ideas should, however, be done properly and with respect, stated the Ambassador. To have in mind also is the latest Russian simulated attacks against Swedish territorial ground. Sweden’s defense is facing a revolution. The Swedish government is hoping for an even closer defense cooperation now with Finland, Norway and Denmark. And this project is already rolling.

Nordic countries are now talking about the benefits of joint Nordic training regiments, for example: A Swedish-Norwegian Defense University College and to merge Sweden and Finland’s marine forces. At a time when Denmark and Norway is considering buying Swedish Gripen Fighters speaks also of a joint air defense for the Nordic countries. Sweden and Finland are already close in this aspect.

In the spring, it’s been exactly sixty years ago, since Sweden abandoned the plans for a Scandinavian defense union. Denmark and Norway chose in 1948 to join NATO. Only Sweden and Finland continued on its nonaligned. And since way back we’ve had the Nordic Passport Union, that was created in 1954, and implemented on May 1, 1958, allows citizens of the Nordic countries: Denmark (Faroe Islands included since January 1, 1966, Greenland not included), Sweden, Norway (Svalbard, Jan Mayen, Bouvet Island and Queen Maud’s Land not included), Finland and Iceland (since September 24, 1965) to cross approved border districts without carrying and having their passport checked. Other citizens can also travel between the Nordic countries’ borders without having their passport checked, but still have to carry some sort of approved travel identification documents.

I believe this suggestion that now comes out, is partly because the four main Nordics, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland are doing rather well together. If you had to be reborn anywhere in the world as a person with average talents and income, you would want to be a Viking. The Nordics cluster is always at the top of league tables of everything from economic competitiveness to social health to happiness. We have avoided both southern Europe’s economic sclerosis and America’s extreme inequality. The development in our area up here in the North, is going in one direction: Cooperation. And this is what have made us great!

When religion takes over people’s minds

I saw a documentary yesterday about the war in Syria. And it was horrible. Children screaming after their parents who was somewhere beneath the rubble in some bombed building. People bleeding and calling out for their love ones. Total chaos! This is how war is. When the free independent mind is blocked and controlled by some old stupid fairytale. Inevitable as is, this becomes the result!

This documentary was supposed to mirror both sides of the war and what is going on there now. First you got a glint of how the Free Syrian Army (Sunni) look at the current situation, and how they stated that the wanted a Syria for all people and of all religious convictions. Second you were shown The Syrian Army “Assad” government friendly one (Alawite) , and how they stated that they were defending the Syria as they know it. But the worse thing, no matter what side you were listening to. They always talked about revenge in the name of Allah? Is that what their god wants?

Revenge after revenge? First the Syrian Ba’ath Party government forces that are friendly towards Bashar al-Assad strikes with regularly carried out attacks against civilian targets and against the free Syrian forces that are active in the northwest (Idlib, Aleppo). Just to be revenged the day after, by the Free Syrian Forces who will attack Syrian Army pickets. And this is how it goes on and on, day after day? And every time someone was injured or killed they screamed for revenge in the name of Allah, that goes for both sides. Intelligence demanded?

The religion has such a strong grip around these poor people, that in.. everything they do or say, it’s always together with some religious statement about Allah. Like: “Look! this is what Allah wants” “Allah told us this” “Allah decided this” “We will revenge them in the name of Allah”. They just can’t think one single thought without referring to Allah. It’s taking up almost 100% of their brain capacity. So to think rational and with a free mind is impossible for them. At least that’s my conclusion of what I’ve seen. The only way these people is going to be free and living peace with each other is WITHOUT religion. Religion was created as a power tool for the greedy and rich wannabe’s. That’s all! We can all live without these stupid brainwash techniques. We don’t need it.

We are free independent minds, and we must not be controlled by anybody than ourselves. I also state that this goes for the Western countries to. Where religion maybe isn’t that strong. But other things seems to take up much of the free mind. Like Money! Because the same grip as religion have over people in the Middle East, the forced desire to raise money in West, has the same effect on people here. My grandfather always said: Priests Politicians and Lawyers is Satan’s Soldiers..and this is so true! After watching and reading about religious wars throughout history I’ve come to the conclusion that, my grandfather was 100% right. We are simple better of without anyone controlling our mind.

To know what the greedy men of the church makes-em tick, and how they collaborate with politician and what their twisted perverted sex fantasies is, you have to see this! Conspiracy of Silence, a documentary listed for viewing in TV Guide Magazine was to be aired on the Discovery Channel, on May 3 1994. This documentary exposed a network of religious leaders and Washington politicians who flew children to Washington D.C. for sex orgies. Many children suffered the indignity of wearing nothing but their underwear and a number displayed on a piece of cardboard hanging from their necks when being auctioned off to foreigners in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Toronto, Canada.

At the last-minute before airing, unknown congressmen threatened the TV Cable industry with restrictive legislation if this documentary was aired. Almost immediately, the rights to the documentary were purchased by unknown persons who ordered all copies destroyed. A copy of this videotape was furnished anonymously to former Nebraska state senator and attorney John De Camp who made it available to retired FBI Agent Ted Gunderson. While the video quality is not top grade, this tape is a blockbuster in what is revealed by its participants involved.

Carbon dioxide has reached record levels – Disaster awaits for many countries

Apparently we have already reached dangerous levels when it comes to climate changes. Which will cause catastrophes with unimagined proportions. And it is obviously to late, trying to stop it now.

Every day, collection systems at the National Security Agency intercept and store 1.7 billion e-mails, phone calls and other types of communications. The NSA sorts a fraction of those into 70 separate databases.

But even the Washington Post may not have been aware of the full scope of the surveillance.  In fact, National Security Agency whistleblower William Binney claims that the NSA has collected “20 trillion transactions” involving U.S. citizens…

In fact, I would suggest that they’ve assembled on the order of 20 trillion transactions about U.S. citizens with other U.S. citizens.

What’s even more frightening is not that they can log and cross reference this information, but that they have the ability to monitor these data flows in real-time.

What does this mean?

As noted by Liberty Blitzkrieg, it means that all digital communications – that includes phone calls, text messages, emails and even live internet chat – are being actively monitored and captured, and they can be recalled at the push of a button.

This isn’t some new and emerging technology; it’s happening right here and now.

It’s not just a theory. It’s fact. It has been confirmed time and again, most recently by former counter intelligence FBI agent Tim Clemente:

On the National Security side of the house we have assets. There’s lots of assets at our disposal throughout the intelligence community. And also, not just domestically but overseas. Those assets allow us to gain information and intelligence on things that we can’t use ordinarily in a criminal investigation, but are used for major terrorism investigations or counter-intelligence investigations.

I’m talking about all digital communications are… there’s a way to look at digital communications in the past. I can’t go into detail of how that’s done or what’s done.

I can tell you that no digital communication is secure. These digital communications will be found out, the conversation will be known.

What’s more is that they are not logging this information just for the heck of it. They are using advanced algorithmic systems to cross-reference all of this information in such a way that they can easily connect the dots to determine everything from your purchasing habits to who you hung out with at the local watering hole yesterday evening.

And before you say, ‘well at least they don’t know what I was talking about when hanging out with friends last night’, understand that in all likelihood you have a personal monitoring device right in your pocket or purse. Should an interested party have reason to do so, they can easily activate the microphone and camera on your cell phone without your knowledge, so everything you say in confidence during a private conversation can be listened to by a third-party without your knowledge. This covert listening technology has been available to the FBI and other agencies for at least a decade.

The real question is, why does the government need these capabilities? They’ll argue that it’s to protect America from terrorists. But considering that that we’re talking about the real-time, 24/7 surveillance of every single citizen in this country, one has to wonder whether there is an ulterior motive.

Couple this with the massive ramp up in the militarization of domestic police forces across the United States, and the only answer that makes sense is that elements within the U.S. government are pursuing a strategy that aims to completely lock this country down and move it from a Republic in which an individual is free to do as they please without interference from the State, to a tyrannical regime where our every move and conversation is monitored to ensure our actions are not subversive to the control infrastructure.

In due course this fairly passive surveillance may well be utilized to identify “domestic terrorists” as broadly defined by the Patriot Act. Once an individual or group has been marked as extremist, the next order of business will be to detain them “legally” under the National Defense Authorization Act, which allows the government to seize an American citizen and hold them indefinitely without charge or trial.

Of course, they’d never do such a thing and something like that would require massive prison camps to be a viable strategy. And we all know those don’t exist. They’re also not stocking up billions of rounds of ammunition.
